Burmatex is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of contract carpets and carpet tiles. The company was originally established in 1917 under a different name and changed to Burmatex in 1972. The company is now part of the multi-million pound group Airea plc.

Burmatex is an innovative company with its focus on the design and creation of flooring products. Customers range from both the commercial and public sectors, and have included architects, specifers and contractors for the leisure, education and healthcare industries.

The company is based in West Yorkshire and is a major exporter to Europe, the Middle-East and the Asia-Pacific rim with a network of nominated agents throughout the world, and all products are available for export.

Burmatex is a BS EN ISO 9001:2000 registered company and all products are tested to BSI/CEN standards in relation to durability, wear, flame retardancy, antistatic properties and colourfastness.

Design

The team at the company’s design centre can provide assistance or advice with a specific project and can also develop technical drawings and bespoke designs to meet the customer’s individual needs.

Burmatex has five product sets which consist of:

Fibre Bonded (Sheet and tiles)

This product is extremely durable and ideal for heavy wear applications such as commercial offices, schools and colleges. Available in a continuous sheet or individual tiles and made from a high performance mix of solution dyed fibres with 32 colours in the range and finishes include velour, stylish fine rib, contemporary broad rib and hard-wearing classic fit.

Structure Bonded® (Sheet and tiles)

Structure bonded sheet or tile flooring is a new and innovative manufacturing technique which has expanded the design potential for commercial interiors. Designs include a mixture of textures and colours giving depth and pattern to an area. Two new additions are the Zip and Code range, which work perfectly with the original Lateral® product.

Tufted (Tiles)

This product set has recently had new colours added and updated to the range. Tufted carpet tiles come in a variety of textures, including contemporary textured loop pile, robust level loop pile and luxurious cut pile.

Entrance Matting (sheet and tiles)

Whether laid in sheet or tiles this product by Burmatex is engineered to protect against dirt and moisture entering a building. It creates an effective barrier which extends the life of interior carpets and flooring. Textures available include grimebuster, chevrolay and classic smooth.

Vinyl (planks and tiles)

Bermatex Vinyl flooring is available in a wide variety of colours in the wood effect range and there are also 5 colours in the stone effect set. This product is ideal for heavy footfall areas particularly in leisure, office and retail applications and a number of tile sizes and plank lengths are available.
