Company Profile
EarthEnergy™ Limited is the UK's leading Geothermal Energy company, specialising in Ground Source Heat Pump systems which absorb low temperature heat from the ground and transfer it into a building using highly efficient, closed loop ground source heat pumps. The company designs, supplies, installs, tests and commissions systems that will utilise this low cost source of energy to not only provide heating but also, in warm weather, a cooling facility.
We have been installing non-domestic EarthEnergy™ Systems in schools, offices, health centres, visitor centres and various other buildings since 1995, varying in size from a few kilowatts to multiple megawatts.
EarthEnergy™ Systems are suitable for almost any new building anywhere in the UK, and are compatible with underfloor heating, radiators, fan coils, ducted air, chilled beams and distributed water to air heat pumps. Heating, cooling and domestic hot water systems can be provided in conjunction with horizontal trenches, vertical boreholes or submerged pond loops.
EarthEnergy™ Systems utilise renewable geothermal energy. They enable the cost-effective reduction of CO2 emissions to achieve compliance with Planning Policy (PPS1 & PPS22), Building Regulations (Part L), Code for Sustainable Homes, BREEAM and corporate sustainability strategies. There are no visual architectural issues and no planning permission or Environment Agency permission is required.
The sizing of any ground source heat pump system is dependent on design day heat loss (kW) and/or peak cooling load (kW) and an assessment of monthly heating and/or cooling energy demand (kWh). Projects in excess of 200 kW in size may benefit from EarthEnergy™ undertaking an in situ thermal conductivity test to provide data to refine the ground loop heat exchanger design. This is not normally necessary for smaller schemes.
EarthEnergy™ Limited is an independent company able to specify and supply round source heat pumps from a variety of manufacturers. Each is elected to meet the needs of an individual project.
Benefits of Ground source Heat Pump Systems:
• Significant reduction in carbon dioxide emissions
• Lower maintenance and running costs
• Unobtrusive - there are no exposed external units
• No emissions or noise nuisance
• No fuel handling/storage requirements
• No fire/explosion hazard
• Long lifetime
