The company is based in Luton, Bedfordshire and is committed to providing products which are extremely beneficial to the environment. The exceptional products are all backed up by a dedicated, trained and highly experienced technical team and are specified for cavity walls insulation, dry linings insulation, roof and floor insulation and acoustics, cold bridging, insulating dpc, breather membranes, insulating vapour barriers, roofing membranes and insulating breather membranes for timber frame.
Thermal and sound technology is specified for new-build and conversion projects within homes, offices and commercial buildings. Thermal Economics has been operating for over 20 years and has supplied over 20 million square metres of material to satisfied clients throughout the UK. The product range is widely specified by major housebuilders, including Barratt Developments, McCarthy & Stone, Redrow Homes and Persimmon Homes and major manufacturers in the modular/portable building industry.
Thermal Economics’ insulation and acoustic products are compliant with the latest regulations for England and Wales and are ideal solutions for the insulation of new build and conversion projects, refurbished floors and Robust Standards Details. All products are designed to comply with the latest versions of the various Approved Documents for England and Wales and Technical Standards for Scotland. Many of the products also hold BBA certificates. The company is a registered NHER assessor and provides complimentary U-vale and SAP calculation services to clients.
For acoustics, Thermal Economics has developed the Isorubber and Isosonic product ranges which provide the components for five proprietary Robust Details for floors; EFC’s 4, 9, 10, 12 and 14. EFC’s 10 and 14 have three Sustainable Homes Credits qualification. The key component in these systems is Isorubber mats. Isorubber is an extremely tough, durable and high density (600kg/m3) material which undergoes no discernible deflection under design load and will not be affected by any long-term acoustic performance deterioration. The acoustic insulation products are suitable for new-build and conversion floors with pre-cast concrete planks, in-situ concrete, beam and block and timber components.
The thermal Alreflex Platinum product range comprises graphite injected polystyrene boards which are laminated with a very low emissive, Alreflex foil. The graphite and the foil work together to enhance and improve thermal performance, whilst the foil also works as a vapour and water barrier. The boards are a cost-effective alternative to polyurethane and phenolic foam systems and incorporate eco-friendly benefits of zero global warming and ozone depletion potential. Every product’s components is HFC and CFC free. The boards are available in various forms for use in cavity wall, ground floor, roof rafter, dry-lining, timber frame and metal frame cladding applications.
Thermal Economics is committed to providing clients with a comprehensive range of high performance acoustic and insulation products. The company has worked with numerous house builders and non-domestic industry clients to provide solutions for a wide and varied range of applications. The experienced and dedicated team at Thermal Economics welcomes enquiries and will endeavour to find an appropriate solution for a particular application. The technical team also has many years of experience in providing cost-effective SAPS solutions with the product applications.
