Air Conditioning
The Construction Centre.co.uk predicts UK air conditioning sales will heat up over the summer
The Construction Centre today issued a warning to businesses to be prepared for the hot summer temperatures expected. With predictions from the met office that the mean summer temperatures this year will be above long term averages and the odds of exceptionally hot periods increasing, many businesses will not have planned ahead with regards to keeping their staff cool.
The construction Centre is the leading UK building industry resource for businesses, professionals and private individuals to search over 60,000 product terms and access details for manufacturers and suppliers of building materials and components.
The Construction Centre announced that it has already seen an increase in traffic for air conditioning and cooling systems and is warning that for many companies it will be too late to book system installations by the end of May.
Richard Simmons Managing Director at The Construction Centre said “Last year there was a huge rush for cooling systems when the weather turned hot and air conditioning firms were swamped with urgent calls for installations and could barely cope with the influx of work. Many businesses were too late and had to suffer the temperatures because the air conditioning firms could not meet the demand.”
He continued “The same story is already beginning to unfold with having had such a warm April and we have seen a marked increase in traffic on The Construction Centre website for air conditioning over the last couple of weeks. There are over 400 companies listed on our website under product terms relating to air conditioning and they are continually receiving brochure requests through.”
Ideally businesses should consider their cooling requirements during the colder months in order to avoid disappointment and uncomfortable working conditions, due to the volume of demand for air conditioning over the summer. Typically installation firms are quieter during the winter months and can complete projects in plenty of time before the hot weather begins. The Construction Centre also indicated that installations during the summer are more expensive than in winter due to the high demand and encourages firms to think ahead with regard to their office requirements.
If predictions from The Construction Centre are right, then this year many office workers will experience a very long hot summer indeed.
