Dulux Trade release new Ecosure Matt
Taking another ‘Step Towards Greener’ with new Ecosure Matt formulation
Building upon the success of its most environmentally friendly range of paints, Ecosure, Dulux Trade has reformulated its matt formulation to make it even more sustainable.
In a climate where competition for jobs is increasingly tough, being able to offer clients more sustainable products can help professional decorators appeal to a wider client base, as specifiers become more and more eco-savvy.
This new formulation of Ecosure Matt has virtually no Volatile Organic Compound (VOCs) or solvents, meaning appliers can be even more confident that they are offering their domestic and commercial clients a decorating solution that has unrivalled environmental benefits, without compromising the application benefits and performance expected from Dulux Trade. (PBW and Magnolia only. Although no VOCs or solvents are added to Ecosure during the manufacturing process, some of the raw materials can contain traces of volatile components, and therefore the number of these components found in a paint formulation can not be described as zero. Bases have minimum 29% less solvent)
Available in the full Dulux Trade range of over 10,000 colours, as well as British Standard BS4800 and RAL classics, Ecosure Matt boasts high opacity and spreading rate, and impressive application properties.
The sustainability credentials of Ecosure Matt were measured during development using the Environmental Impact Analyser, a cradle to factory gate analytical tool produced in conjunction with leading sustainability charity Forum for the Future. The results confirmed that the new Ecosure Matt formulation now contains 35 per cent less CO2 and fewer VOCs and solvents than standard Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt.
Like the other products in the Ecosure range, this new formulation is packaged in cans manufactured with a minimum of 25 per cent recycled materials and builds upon the work Dulux Trade undertook with Forum for the Future, during the groundbreaking development of Ecosure.
