Rockwool Loft Insulation Giveaway
Saturday 4th July Final day of promotion. Rockwool aims to double current volumes of free insulation.
Rockwool is aiming to double the 119 tonnes of loft insulation that it has given away free-of-charge to Welsh homeowners to date, with the last day of its great insulation giveaway this Saturday (4th July).
The company has so far given 284 Welsh homeowners enough insulation to help them improve energy efficiency and cut their home heating bills, but says this weekend it wants to double the amount given away, with a push to provide an additional 120 tonnes free to Welsh homeowners.
The initiative, which is backed by Bridgend MP Madeleine Moon and community interest group Warm Wales, is part of Rockwool’s ongoing efforts to help householders cut fuel bills and do their bit for the environment by making their homes more energy efficient.
The Energy Saving Trust estimates that fuel bills can be cut by up to £205 a year through proper loft insulation in the average three-bedroom family home, meaning that the loft insulation given away to date could collectively save the families concerned up to £58,220 a year on fuel bills.
The final insulation giveaway takes place between 9.30am – 4pm on Saturday 4th July and all interested house-holders need to do is collect the insulation from the warehouse at John Raymond Transport, off Queens Road, Bridgend Industrial Estate, Bridgend, CF71 3TR.
Hans Schreuder, Rockwool managing director, commented: “We are thrilled with the reaction we have got so far from homeowners in Wales and we feel sure this initiative will help them save money on fuel bills and make their homes more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
“We have had a very positive feedback from the 284 homeowners who have taken advantage of the offer so far but we know there are many more families in Wales who could benefit from improving their loft insulation. As a result we’re trying to make this final day of the great insulation giveaway our best yet and we’re aiming to give an additional 120 tonnes away free. Our message to Welsh families is simple; come and join in, it’s free, it’s high quality loft insulation and there’s no catch.”
The granulate Rockwool insulation is easy to install and just needs to be raked out onto the attic floor, with Rockwool providing a full installation instruction booklet for everyone taking up the free offer.
