The in-house research and design department uses the latest solid modelling and drafting software and is continuously developing and improving the product range. Standard product details are available to specifiers on AutoCAD and DXF disks. The company has gained an ISO 9001:2000 and the Telford based factory is fully equipped with the latest CNC machinery to guarantee precise and effective production and utilises innovative CAD/CAM software. There are two standard grades of stainless steel used by Component Developments; 304 grade stainless steel is an austenitic grade used for general purposes and offers a good resistance to atmospheric corrosion and to numerous organic and inorganic chemicals and 316 grade stainless steel is an austenitic grade with good resistance to uniform corrosion, pitting and crevice corrosion. Both grades provide superior formability, weldability and impact strength, making them suitable for the fabrication of surface drainage and protection products.

The product range includes:

Drainage Channels

A drainage channel is incorporated in a floor to reduce the number of separate drainage points. The system has been developed with gratings to allow drainage into the channel whilst carrying various loads. Component Developments offers a range of drainage channels to suit any application and floor type and can produce bespoke systems which are tailored to suit individual site requirements. The channels are designed in conjunction with the 5000 series gullies, with the 3000 and 6000 series both utilising the 4000 series gratings. Manufactured in 304 or 316 grade stainless steel, the channels are available in lengths which are only restricted by transportation and site logistics. Options include:

• 3000 Series - Standard Drainage Channels: A strong, hygienic, functional and aesthetically pleasing system with a minimum channel depth of 50mm and ideal for water and waste matter, direct discharge from process equipment and where channels interconnect with numerous gullies
• 3600 Series - Super Compact Drainage Channels: An unobtrusive aesthetic system which fits flush with the floor and has no gratings. The conical shaped channel ensures a free flow of waste and has a depth of 50mm (constant depth) or 65mm (built-in fall)
• 6000 - Series: Modular Channels: An economy system restricted to a width of 155mm and a minimum channel depth of 40mm. This system is suitable for tiled, concrete or resin floor finishes

Gratings

The 4000 series of stainless steel gratings are used with the series 3000 and 6000 channels, series 5000 gullies and 4001 grating frame assemblies. Options include:

• Mesh Gratings: Used for general wash down areas that need a large drainage space, commercial kitchens, food/pharmaceutical production lines and hospitals
• Heelsafe Gratings: Used in barefoot pedestrian situations such as showers and changing rooms and in public areas where high heels are often worn
• Perforated: Used in barefoot and general production areas

Gullies

The 5000 series of gullies has been developed to be used as individual drainage points or in conjunction with the 3000, 3600 and 6000 series drainage channel systems. The design removes the need for additional rodding points and provides the specifier with a rugged, durable and hygienic product that can satisfy virtually any performance and design requirement. Gullies provide easy access for cleaning and inspection and are ideal for kitchens, bakeries, abattoirs, dairies and food processing facilities. The gullies are height adjustable for ease of installation and incorporate removable gratings, odour traps, rodding ports and waste baskets, allowing for full bore access.

Rodding Eyes

A selection of stainless steel sealed rodding eyes has been developed to suit most specifications. Each rodding eye features anchor tangs and is available with either a vertical or 45 degree angled outlet spigot. Options include Vinoseal clamping flange, heavy duty cover, non-slip treadsafe finish and outlet dimensions of 82, 110 and 160mm.

Manhole Covers

Component Developments manufactures two manhole cover and frame options which are made from stainless steel for interior applications. Both include locking assemblies, lifting keys and are double sealed.

• 4200 Series: The recessed/infill cover will accept a screed with a tile or resin floor finish
• 4300 Series: The Vinoseal access cover with vinyl clamping strip is used to mechanically clamp vinyl sheet flooring finishes securely in place

Surface Protection

Component Developments has created a range of corner guards, cappings and buffer rails in stainless steel to provide surface protection for corners and edges which are susceptible to impact damage. The profiles have been developed to suit a vast array of wall finishes including tiles, fair-face blockwork and pvc sheeting. Surface protection products are widely used in hospitals, kitchens, supermarkets, schools, shopping centres, leisure facilities and food processing plants.
